Massage Therapy Student Clinic – Information for New Patients

Welcome to the Central Florida School of Massage Therapys Student Clinic, where we offer massage therapy relaxation sessions with our senior students.

Student massages in our massage school clinic are $35.00 for 50 minutes of light Swedish Relaxation Massage. The students do not perform Deep Tissue, Neuro-Muscular, or Medical massages. To receive the required health form you can call the School at 407-673-6776 or download it here.

The Clinic Health Form must be completed, signed, and returned for approval to the Clinic Director prior to making the first appointment

Student massages are performed in a teaching environment as a learning experience for the student so clients must be in reasonably good health or have a condition that does not require a doctors approval to receive massage. We are seeking clients to provide a variety of experiences for our students to aid in their learning process.

Professional Massage Therapy Clinic

Recent graduates are available in the professional clinic for 60 minute sessions at $45. More experienced graduates and some SSMT instructors and are available in the professional clinic their fees vary. Other graduates and instructors are available at their own offices, or available for house calls, and we are glad to refer you to them.

The therapists in the professional clinic rent the space and work independently, so plan to pay your therapist directly – many do not take credit cards.

What Is A Massage Therapist

Massage Therapy School in Miami, FL

As mentioned in the introduction, massage therapy is a holistic form of healthcare that helps people feel and function better. The massage therapist manipulates skin, muscles and tissue to reduce stress and relieve tension and pain in their patients. Swedish, or Classic Massage, is the type of massage that most people think of when discussing massage therapy, and most massage therapy schools near Richmond Hill NY teach it as their primary form of massage. However, there are many other types of massage that programs may or may not include within their course of instruction. Following are just a few examples.

  • Neuromuscular Therapy Massage
  • Hot Stone Massage
  • Pregnancy Massage

Professionals that work in massage therapy should be referred to as massage therapists. From time to time one may hear them called a masseuse or a masseur, which refers to a female or a male massage practitioner. However, these terms generally carry a negative connotation among the general public and professionals alike and should be avoided.

Our Highly Specialized Studentmassage Clinic Services & Details

Lauterstein-Conway Massage School Student Clinic

The Florida School of Advanced Bodywork specializes in longer massage & bodywork sessions. Our students have been taught by leading edge instructors that many painful afflictions people suffer from very often take more time to resolve than a common one-hour massage.

At the FLSAB, our students are devoted to helping their clients resolve significant pain, restrictive joint movements, and poor postural issues many have yet to find relief for. This is a specific treatment of soft tissue pain due to injury, restricted activities, and poor postural habits.

Our students have been thoroughly trained in Postural Assessment and Structural Analysis, a process designed to help determine what muscles are most likely involved in causing a clients issues.

Students spend 10 hours a week, every week, studying kinesiology , pain patterns, and treatment strategies for alleviating muscular imbalances, often the root cause of the many underlying patterns of pain. The students training is a very medical and clinical massage oriented approach.

An intake history form will be given to each client at the beginning of his or her Clinical, Structural Bodywork Session or Full Body, Therapeutic Swedish Massage, which the client will complete and sign.

Following the clients session, the client will rate his/her massage session by completing an evaluation form. This is an effective learning tool for the massage therapy student.

Do you spend your day working in a stressful, fast-paced environment? Are you a homemaker who takes care of the house, family, pets, and everyone except yourself? Are you an athlete that pushes your body to the limits? If the answer to any of these is yes, why not take some you time and schedule a professional massage? Chances are, once you experience the mental and physical benefits of a massage, it will quickly become your monthly or quarterly ritual.

The Massage Clinic schedules the massage with the first available massage student and clients cannot ask for a specific male or female therapist. Clients are asked to be understanding that their massage is taking place in the student massage clinic, thus, students may ask for assistance from their clinic supervisor. We appreciate the gesture for gratuities, but they cannot be accepted. Alternatively, we request that you would kindly refer family and friends to experience a massage at our clinic. Currently, the clinic is available for massage appointments: Monday-Friday, 2:30pm & 3:30pm for 60, 90, 120 minutes, 3:45pm & 4:30pm for 60 minutes. The massage clinic closes at 5pm on Fridays.

A Message From Kyle Wrightfounder & Developer Of Florida And North Carolina Schools Of Advanced Bodywork:

Its always nice to see when therapists quiet their minds and quiet their hands the recipient of the bodywork goes to a deep level of parasympathetic state, which allows for a deeper level of entry into the musculo-fascial layers of the body. When the recipient experiences no fear, resistance, guarding and armoring and no pain during their session, their muscles are more able to achieve relaxation and longer lasting results.
