Anatomy/Physiology, Kinesiology & Pathology – This course teaches the student about the structure and function of the human body the mechanics of muscular movement and the causes of illness and dysfunction. All body systems are studied with a strong emphasis on the musculoskeletal system.
Hydrotherapy – The student learns the theories and techniques of hot and cold application for the relief of muscular stress and strain.
Swedish Massage – Swedish massage therapy is the most popular form of massage therapy. It incorporates the use of oils or creams and is recognized by its relaxing, long strokes and kneading movements. All techniques and skills needed to give professional Swedish massage therapy are taught at the Academy’s massage school NJ. Great training for any professional massage therapist or masseur.
Reflexology – Through the combined use of stroking and finger pressure the student learns how to de-stress the mind and body and to stimulate the organ and endocrine systems. This form of massage therapy uses reflex points on the feet.
Shiatsu – Shiatsu is the Japanese art of applying deep pressure to the musculature using fingers, hands, forearms, elbows, knees, and feet, in order to stimulate and balance the bodys muscles and energy pathways. We know it sounds sappy, but here at the Academy we really do want to help relieve pain and suffering in the world. Notably, the founder, Whitney Lowe, believes so strongly in this mission he does not stop at the human species, but includes wildlife and animals too, donating time and money to rescues. Hes also a big fan of the Massage Therapy Foundation and other charitable organizations helping humans.
Back to human pain though. Lowes research, writing, programs, and books center on how to treat musculoskeletal disorders and pain. Yeah, lots of educators teach that now. Frankly, you have a lot of choices in the marketplace of advanced clinical massage. But, we do it a bit differently here.
Lowes original programs were entirely workshop based. But his students continually asked for more in-depth study and content. Sadly, the workshop format simply does not provide the time for this level of study and quite simply it would have been costly.
So Whitney put his research and study talents to work learning how to create advanced online learning programs that would give students as much depth as they wanted, the time they needed to work at that level, more content and exploration of how all the aspects of advanced massage work together, and heres the clicker all of it at an affordable price.

Arkansas Law for massage therapy requires that 500 classroom hours fall into the following curriculum to obtain your L.M.T certification:
