  • Major Massage School Costs: Tuition Books And Licensing Fees

If your program has a clinic in which students practice, you may be required to pay a clinic fee and obtain malpractice insurance. According to Naturalhealers.com, programs typically range from $6 to $17 a credit hour.

States that require massage therapy licensing may require more hours of schooling before you are eligible to practice, which will affect the cost of a program. According to Naturalhealers.com:

“Most states with massage licensing criteria commonly require between 500 to 600 hours of massage therapy training. This equates to a tuition range of between $6,000 and $10,000 for your certificate.”

Costs may vary depending on whether you are a full-time or part-time student. Find out whether you need to pay your tuition in full or can pay in installments before you begin your program. Late payments might cause you to incur fees or affect your status in a program. Expect books to add approximately $200 to $300.

If required to take the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination , you’ll have to pay about $200. Then, you’ll likely have an additional licensing fee. The state of Florida, for example, charges $155.

A Message From Kyle Wrightfounder & Developer Of Florida And North Carolina Schools Of Advanced Bodywork:

Its always nice to see when therapists quiet their minds and quiet their hands the recipient of the bodywork goes to a deep level of parasympathetic state, which allows for a deeper level of entry into the musculo-fascial layers of the body. When the recipient experiences no fear, resistance, guarding and armoring and no pain during their session, their muscles are more able to achieve relaxation and longer lasting results.

Use A 529 Plan To Offset Rising Education Costs

One of the most sound investments you can make to help pay for your child’s higher education is by using a 529 plan. These funds grow in a tax-free environment, and generally have a 3-5% rate of return. The only catch is that all funds need to be used for higher education, and if not… there are monetary penalties imposed when withdrawn for other uses.

Florida offers a prepaid tuition plan and a 529 savings plan, both which have Florida residency requirements. The Stanley G. Tate Florida Prepaid College Plan is the largest prepaid plan in the nation. It is unique among contract-type prepaid programs in offering a dormitory option in addition to its various tuition and fees packages. The Florida 529 Savings Plan is a board-managed 529 college savings program that hires outside investment managers to separately manage the programs portfolios.
