Nicole Bermeo – NC LMBT #13040

I work well with people who need massage therapy to live better when they have a chronic pain condition. My work can range from lighter using techniques such as lymphatic drainage to employing firmer techniques when more pressure is indicated. I enjoy working with people who have never received massage before. For many people, the idea of a stranger touching them may seem daunting to many, but I like to be the one to educate them that receiving regular massage doesnt have to be scary

Jody Butler Reiki Master

Miller

I believe that we can choose to experience happiness and peace in our lives despite any problem or difficulty that we may encounter in life. This seems difficult, or even impossible, when we are overwhelmed with stress, pain, or illness. I discovered energy healing as a means of relieving this overwhelm as I worked through my own past traumas and physical pain.

I am a Certified Reiki Master in a blend of the Usui and Tibetan Reiki systems, having received my training from Eleonore Koury of Reiki Unleashed. I share Reiki Unleasheds vision of a thriving, united world in harmony and peace whose purpose is to reciprocally promote respect and reverence for all human kind, natural life and our Earth. I have also studied and practiced Spring Forest Qigong for seven years and am always deepening my knowledge of Crystal healing.

During a healing session I am guided by intuition as I allow Reiki Energy to flow through me to you for your highest good. This Reiki Energy release blocks, and balances out energy centers allowing you to find relaxation and healing in order to improve your mental, emotional, and physical wellness.

I also offer Reiki certification workshops so that you can continue Reiki via self treatments.

Johnny is a true healer. He has an unparalleled skill-set that finds all my aches and stressors. He seems to zero in on exactly the root of the pain and works it out. Amazing healing hands!

Wect Investigates Update: Parent Gets Partial Refund After College Suspends Courses Due To Covid

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Parent Susan Huggins said it was insulting. Miller-Motte College indefinitely suspended its massage therapy program this year due to COVID-19, when her daughter was just six weeks shy of graduation. The $12,000 tuition Huggins had borrowed for the 10-month course was already paid, and the school wasnt offering refunds.

They grandfathered in a couple of people who were maybe… two credit hours away, they did let those people graduate. But for those of us that were within that six week window, they said theres nothing they could do, it was due to COVID and it wasnt their fault, Huggins said.

Federal guidelines require that students not suspend their studies for more than 180 days if they want credit for the work completed up to that point. 180 days into the pandemic, Miller-Motte officials said they didnt feel it was safe to resume hands-on training, despite the fact that other colleges had resumed classes for massage therapy and cosmetology students.

Miller-Motte suggested students could transfer their credit hours to other colleges offering similar training programs, but students told us neighboring schools would not accept their credit hours because of differences in training and curriculum. So students in Miller-Mottes massage therapy and cosmetology programs were forced to withdraw and forfeit the credit hours theyd earned up to that point.

When reached for comment, Miller-Motte sent WECT the following response:

Johnny Butler Nclmbt# 1749

Hi, my name is Johnny and I have been a massage therapist since March 2001. They say if you love what you do, than you will never work a day in your life. I have been fortunate to have a career that I love. When doing massage, I am in the moment and everything else disappears so I can focus on the person on my table. With all of my attention and intentions directed to my client, my healing touch improves their well-being.

My journey to massage therapy has been a long and winding road. I served in the Army for three years as a truck driver, and was stationed in Germany from 1988-1991. After serving my country, I went to college and earned a BS in Accounting from UNCW. After a year of numbers, I realized this was not my path so I delivered furniture for the next 4 ½ years.

I enrolled into massage school in Jan 2000 and graduated in Dec 2000. After receiving my license, I went into private practice as N2Touch Massage Therapy and am happy to say it is still a thriving practice. In addition, I worked at Miller-Motte as a Teachers Assistant/Clinic Supervisor until Nov 2015. I had the benefit of assisting many instructors with different backgrounds and specialties which has made my massage style different from most. Eventually I became a teacher and was able to share my passion with the students of the massage program at Brunswick County Community College. It was a wonderful experience to help prepare the next generation of healers.

I am waiting to work on you.

For over three-quarters of a century Miller-Motte has been a reputable leader in private career education. Judge Leon Motte founded the school in 1916 in Wilmington, North Carolina. The school provided the Wilmington legal community with a small training center for courtroom stenographers. Over the years the college established other campuses in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi and Georgia.

In 1929, Phillips Business College, then known as Phillips Secretarial School, was founded in Lynchburg, Virginia by the late Marjorie Green Phillips. In 1954, Virginia Commercial College, which had been established in 1909, merged with Phillips Business College. The college continued to operate under the Phillips Business College name until the late 1990’s when through a change in ownership the school became a member of the Miller-Motte family of colleges.
