Edina’s Massage Envy Spa is partnering with the Arthritis Foundation on Wednesday, donating $10 from every one-hour massage and facial session as part of the annual Healing Hands for Arthritis event.Massage Envy’s 890 locations have raised more than $1 million since 2011 for the foundation.The Edina Massage Envy spoke with Lakeville resident Cheryll Swedberg about how massage treats her arthritis. “When I want to play with my daughter or my dog, there are certain things that I can’t do,” she said. “On the days that I have flare-ups, I think really helps.”

In Minnesota, there are 5 degrees of criminal sexual conduct. First-degree criminal sexual conduct is the most severe and is when there is sexual penetration or sexual contact with a victim under 13 years old. To be charged with Criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, the defendant has to be more than 36 months older that the victim under 13, or the victim is between 13 and 16 the defendant is more than 48 months older, or if the victim has reasonable fear of harm, or if the defendant is armed with a dangerous weapon, or caused injury to victim, used coercion, or had reason to know the victim is mentally impaired, or if there was a significant relationship and the victim was under 16 at the time. There are clearly many ways and situations that could lead to a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge. According to the reports filed at Massage Envy, many of the massage therapists would likely be charged with third or fourth degree criminal sexual conduct in Minnesota. Depending on whether there was sexual contact or penetration the severity of the charge would change. When determining degrees of sexual assault, there are many factors that come into play such as whether the actor was in a position of authority of the complainant, age of both individuals, the amount of force used, and the type of touching or penetration.

It’s been very frustrating trying to make an appointment. My husband got me a gift package for my birthday back in June. Due to lack of staffing I haven’t been able to make 1 yet. This is So understandable with everything that’s going on! Still frustrating non the less. Tonight I was able to talk to the manager, La Toya. She was Very helpful and professional! I think she deserves a raise for all of the frustrated people out there that she has to deal with on a daily basis!

I highly recommend this location of Massage Envy. In particular my favorite massage therapist is Bob, but I have had massages from many other therapists and they’re all great! I also want to specifically shout out management. They have been helping me deal with a problem caused by my old location and they have been very helpful and have gone above and beyond for me!
