My boyfriend and I exchange a playful glance as we pull up to the hotel valet – it’s the beginning of a long-overdue and beautifully romantic weekend getaway.We disappear into The Shores Resort & Spa, an oceanside Florida resort in Daytona Beach. Immediately, we’re greeted by the resort ambassadors in a grand foyer befitting a mansion. There are mahogany pillars, giant chandeliers and deep red- and green-cloth couches. Paintings of monkeys wink at us as we’re escorted to our room, one of 212 cozy, Caribbean-themed spaces accented by water colors and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean or Halifax River.Exploring the property, we find that the oceanfront deck offers several lovers’ nooks, from the fire pit to the private lanai. Escapism is a specialty here. We seem to find evidence of the hotel’s theme – “playful, yet provocative” – around every turn.

This was the first time I have ever had a massage, so I have nothing to compare it with. The massage seemed to be good and I have no complaints with the massage or the lady that gave it to me. The only thing is that she was the only one there and had to leave my massage several times to see who came in or something as I heard her talking to someone else. Now this is what upset me. Their website says new customers get $10.00 off. It also says $65.00 for 1 hour massage before noon. Well my appointment was at 9:00 AM when I walked in I told the lady I had never had a massage. Made an appt for 11am on a Tues. Left my name and number. Arrived at 10:50am. The door was locked. I called the main number. No answer. No open signs were on.The info door said open 9am-10pm. Took a walk on the beach and came back 20 minutes later. Still nobody home. No call. nothing

They got us in for a 60-minute couples massage last minute during our vacation in Florida. The price was lower than the other nearby spas. The massage was amazing! It was the first time I’ve experienced a therapist use full body weight up on the table, being a small woman, but it was perfect. Very enjoyable. I wish we lived closer, we will definitely be back during our next vacation.

If you’re looking for a nice gentle, fall asleep style massage this is not the place! This place attacks tight muscles with a vengeance … and toes and heels and elbows.. Oh and also very very hot rocks.I like that there wasn’t a lot of chatter and they didn’t want to know all about your kids and everything else they gave you plenty of time to wince in pain quietly as they matched the last vestiges of tightness out of every muscle in your shoulders and back and but and legs. They do a lot of walking on your back style massage at the beginning and a few moves that I’ve never had done before on my legs which felt fantastic there were a lot of instances where I was when seeing through the pain as they ground in their heels elbows and Knuckles. But they gave you what you needed even if at times it’s not what you think you want. Just know this is a very aggressive massage and for those who who like deep tissue and have a hard time finding someone who can get down into it this is the perfect place for you
